Saraswati is depicted seated on a white lotus, dressed in white herself, holding a veena, a book, and a strand of prayer beads — an image built entirely around clarity, knowledge, and creative expression, without a trace of the ornament or opulence associated with wealth deities.
When it’s said: Before exams, before public speaking, before creative work of any kind, and especially during Vasant Panchami, the festival marking the arrival of spring, when students traditionally place their books and instruments before her image for blessing.
