Om Kreem Kalikayei Namaha — Om, and salutations to Kali, invoked through her seed syllable, “Kreem.”
Kali is among the most misunderstood figures in Hindu iconography to outsiders — dark-skinned, garlanded with skulls, tongue extended, often depicted standing on the prone form of Shiva himself. Within tradition, however, she represents time itself, and the fierce, unsentimental force that dissolves illusion, ego, and everything false, however painful that dissolving might feel from the perspective of the ego being dissolved.
Her seed syllable, “Kreem,” is considered one of the most potent bija mantras in the entire Tantric tradition, associated specifically with attraction, transformation, and the dissolving of obstacles too deeply entrenched for softer methods to shift.
When it’s said: During Kali Puja, particularly prevalent in Bengal, and privately by practitioners facing a specific, stubborn obstacle they’ve been unable to shift through ordinary means. Devotees are typically cautioned to approach this mantra with genuine seriousness, given its association with rapid, sometimes uncomfortable transformation.
